Workshops
At Sounding House, workshops are more than opportunities to learn a new skill. They are invitations to slow down, work with your hands, gather with others, and notice more deeply—connecting through materials, place, and the act of making.
Workshops are artist-led and beginner-friendly, and emphasize accessible processes that require minimal specialized equipment while fostering creativity, curiosity, and community.
Sounding House workshops take place both within our studio and beyond its walls, in collaboration with local businesses, artists, organizations, and creative spaces throughout the region.

The Ornament Social: A Creative Holiday Evening

Join Sounding House and June & Lark for a workshop where you'll create a beautiful, one-of-a-kind holiday ornament to keep or give as a gift.
Led by artist Kendra Curry-Khanna, this relaxed, hands-on experience invites you to slow down, get creative, and enjoy the company of others over wine and seasonal bites. No artistic experience necessary; just come ready to make something lovely and enjoy a little holiday merriment. All materials and guidance will be provided.

Needle Felting on Handmade Paper
In collaboration with The Feminist Seed Bank
Explore needle felting on an unusual surface: handmade paper. Drawing on her material and artistic research, Melissa H. Potter will guide you through a workshop that brings these two ancient crafts together to create remarkable results. Materials and tools included.
This intimate, artist-led workshop invites participants to explore the creative possibilities of combining fiber and paper through a tactile, hands-on process. The session offers an opportunity to experiment with materials, learn, and make something new.

Creative Lunch
A monthly mid-day gathering for making and experimenting
Take a creative break and join us in the studio for 90 minutes of playful, hands-on exploration. Each month, Creative Lunch focuses on a different material or creative prompt—from ink painting and collage to drawing and beyond. No experience or special skills needed. Just bring your lunch, your curiosity, and a willingness to be creative.
